A
graduate completing a business education major is eligible
for a career-technical teaching license in integrated
business, providing that he or she has a 2.5 accumulative
grade point average and has successfully completed the
Praxis Examinations.
Learning
Outcomes
Upon
completion of the baccalaureate degree, students in business
education are expected to:
- Demonstrate
knowledge and understandings necessary to perform successfully
in the following four teacher performance domains: organizing
content knowledge for student learning, creating an
environment for student learning, teaching for student
learning and teacher professionalism;
- Describe
trends and issues in workforce education including career-technical
education, tech prep, career academies/majors/pathways,
high schools that work and other national school reform
initiatives;
- Demonstrate
an understanding of the content areas for which they
will be licensed to teach, including such subjects as
accounting, basic business, business law, business economics,
computer information technology and systems, management,
office procedures and software applications in business.
