The
Board of Embalmers and Funeral Directors of Ohio requires a bachelor's
degree for licensure as a funeral director or embalmer. Students
wishing to practice in another state should contact its licensing
authority. Information about colleges accredited by the American
Board of Funeral Service Education can be obtained by writing to

The
Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science offers the bachelor in mortuary
science degree. Students planning to transfer into this program
after two years at Bowling Green must pass at least 12 hours of
English composition and literature; 22 hours of social science,
including psychology (4 hours), sociology (6 hours), economics (6
hours), and history (6 hours); 12 hours of natural science/math,
with biology and chemistry recommended; 12 hours of
arts and humanities, including philosophy/religion, theatre arts,
or art recommended and IPC 102 plus business electives including
marketing required, as part of the 60-hour minimum requirement to
