The
Education Abroad Office provides in-depth assistance to
BGSU students seeking to study, volunteer or work abroad
in native language or English-speaking programs. In conjunction
with other universities and international study organizations,
Education Abroad coordinates a variety of programs that
enable students to spend an academic year, a semester
or a summer abroad in countries ranging from Austria to
West Africa. Students can study and learn in a variety
of BGSU-sponsored programs as well as those available
through other universities and international organizations.
Students
are encouraged to meet with their advisor and the Director
of Education Abroad during their freshman year. Early
planning for an education abroad experience can help ensure
that it becomes an integral part of the student's degree
program. Students may also receive assistance in designing
their own education abroad experiences. Financial aid
in the form of need- and academic-based scholarships may
be available for eligible students.
