+Medical Transcribing Specialist
The
medical transcriber is responsible for transcribing medical
information and reports from transcription equipment onto
paper in a complete and accurate manner. Career opportunities
exist in the medical record departments of hospitals,
physicians offices, private clinics and other settings.
The
program consists of selected courses from both the secretarial
administrative sciences program and the health information
technology program, and students may continue in either
program for an associate degree. To receive the medical
processor certificate, the student must have at least
a 2.0 grade point average for all work completed.
