Policies
General requirements for associate degrees
A
candidate for an associate degree must complete the requirements
listed below and any additional requirements set by the
college offering this degree.
-
Satisfy all University entrance requirements.
- Earn
a minimum of 62 semester hours (some degrees require
more than 62 hours of credit). At least 15 hours must
be completed at BGSU immediately before graduation.
- Earn
a cumulative grade point average of at least 2.0 ("C"
average) for all coursework attempted.
- Complete
the first-year English composition sequence, preferably
in the first year.
- Complete
all course requirements for a degree program as described
in the BGSU Firelands
section
- File
an application for graduation. Graduation applications
can be obtained from and returned to the Student Services
Office located in the West Building at BGSU Firelands.
a.
For graduation in December, an application must be filed
by the end of the second week of the fall semester.
b. For May graduation, the deadline for filing an application
is the end of the second week of the spring semester.
c. For graduation in August, the filing date deadline
is the end of the first week of the summer session.
A
student who does not fulfill all requirements toward a
degree within four weeks after commencement must reapply
for graduation at the next commencement.
