Withdrawal from the University
A
student who wishes to withdraw from the University in
good standing must obtain the permission of the dean of
the college in which the student is enrolled. A partial
refund of fees may be possible; see Fees
and Charges. If a student leaves the University without
proper notice and permission, a mark of "WF"
is recorded in all courses for which the student is currently
enrolled. Such a student is not entitled to any refund
of fees.
The
following additional rules apply to withdrawals:
-
A student is not permitted to withdraw during the final
exam period of the fall or spring semesters, or during
the last two days of any summer session.
- A
student who withdraws with permission from the University
will have all courses from the semester dropped and
no grades recorded except for courses previously dropped
with a "WF."
- A
student who withdraws during the last five weeks of
the fall semester cannot return until the following
summer semester, except by special permission of the
dean of the college in which he or she is enrolled.
- A
student who withdraws during the last five weeks of
the spring semester cannot return until the following
spring semester, except by special permission of the
dean of the college in which he or she is enrolled.
- A
student who withdraws during the last two weeks of the
first six-week summer session cannot return for the
second six-week session, except by special permission
of the dean of the college in which he or she is enrolled.
- A
student who withdraws during the last two weeks of the
second six-week summer session cannot return until the
following spring semester, except by special permission
of the dean of the college in which he or she is enrolled.
- A
student who withdraws during the last two weeks and
three days of the eight-week summer session cannot return
until the following spring semester, except by special
permission of the dean of the college in which he or
she is enrolled.
- When,
in the judgment of the medical staff of the Student
Health Service, the physical or mental condition of
a student might be disadvantageous to the health or
welfare of that student or others on the campus, the
University may require the withdrawal of the student
from the University.
