Update: Task Force to Review BGSU Graduate Programs

I have received an update from the members of the Task Force to Review BGSU Graduate Programs regarding their work to date. The Task Force has requested an extension of time to complete the review and submittal of the final report. I am convinced that this extended timeline is necessary to insure the high quality of the final review.
The Task Force will take a break from its work over the summer and reconvene in September, with a completion date scheduled for Oct. 30, 2008.

The Task Force has made great progress in establishing a framework to gather and evaluate qualitative and quantitative data about the graduate programs at BGSU. This semester, it has identified and defined the criteria to be used in the review, identified the specific graduate programs to be reviewed, solicited information and faculty vitae from the graduate programs and begun compiling individual profiles of the graduate programs based on the collected data.

I wish to thank the Task Force members for their dedication and commitment to BGSU and for their contributions to the Graduate Program Review. Furthermore, thanks to all who have provided input for this important part of the BGSU strategic planning process.
