Update: Pre-Award Design Task Force

The Task Force held its fourth meeting on Friday, April 4.

During this session, the group, working in small teams, reviewed, clarified and detailed its recommendations for the pre-award process. The group also continued to identify and discuss issues that impact the seamless coordination of pre- and post-award activities, and clarified points of consideration in the post-award areas.

The final team meeting, to be held Friday, April 11, will focus on the elements of "good service" from all parties involved in the grants process, including those departments traditionally focused on grants issues, SPAR and Grants Accounting, as well as associated parties who are critical to ensuring an efficient and effective grant and research-project process. Other areas included are the academic colleges and departments, purchasing and p-card administrators, human resources, facilities management and the various areas of the University that are involved in the development of overarching administrative and financial policies and procedures.

Following the April 11 meeting, the team will finalize the content and the presentation format of its recommendations. These will be submitted to me and shared with the general University community.
