Update: Pre-Award Design Task Force
The Task Force held its third meeting on Friday, March 28. Bonita Bembry joined the discussion, representing the Student Affairs area.
During this session the group, working in small teams, completed the first draft of recommendations to address pre-award process activity areas. The full team is reviewing, clarifying and detailing those recommendations for the final format.
In the team discussions, emphasis was placed upon the need to establish an enhanced organization-wide effort to expand the research capacity of the University. Additionally, concerns about the seamless operation of pre-award activities and their smooth integration and flow into the post-award work were identified and discussed. Sheri Stoll, Vice President for Finance and Administration, and I joined the team for an open discussion.
The task force's work will continue into the fourth meeting, on April 4, with a fifth meeting scheduled for April 11. Following its final meeting, and agreement on the recommendations and suggestions, the results will be shared with the University community.
