IDEAL
Institutions Developing Excellence in
Academic Leadership (IDEAL)

Bowling Green State University is one of six partner research universities in Northern Ohio to participate in a grant funded by the National Science Foundation: Institutions Developing Excellence in Academic Leadership (IDEAL).  This three-year project is designed to cultivate and support collegial environments and climates for women and underrepresented groups in the sciences, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) fields at partner institutions. Building on research findings and resources generated by NSF's ADVANCE programs, Case Western Reserve University, the lead institution, is working with BGSU, Kent State, Cleveland State, and the Universities of Akron and Toledo to develop the IDEAL program.  The goal of IDEAL is to encourage career advancement of women and underrepresented minorities in science and technology at all stages, from student through postdoctoral researchers and all levels of facutly, into administrative and other leadership positions.
