Undergraduate Education
3 Year Undergraduate Programs
How? Get a jump start on your BGSU degree by completing requirements while you are still in high school or prior to enrolling at BGSU. Before enrolling as a new freshman at BGSU, earn at least 30 credit hours that count toward one of the BGSU majors students can complete in three years. You can earn the 30 hours through the following programs:
- PSEO (Post Secondary Enrollment Options)
- AP (Advanced Placement)
- Dual Enrollment courses
- IB (International Baccalaureate: subject exams similar to AP)
- CLEP (College Level Examination Program) *Review of military training and coursework
- Transfer coursework from a regionally accredited institution of higher education
- Credit by examination
What steps should I take if I am interested in this opportunity?
Contact a BGSU advisor in the college of your interest (see sidebar) about the best way for you to obtain 30 hours of credit that will apply to your intended major. You should also consult degree program outlines (links in the left sidebar). These outlines are examples showing how a 3-year degree can be accomplished at BGSU. An advisor can help you identify the best ways for you to accomplish the degree requirements based on your interests and circumstances.
Contact a BGSU advisor: For College of Arts & Sciences Advisors call 419-372-2015; For College of Business Advisors call 419-372-2747
To keep in mind. Students can also accelerate time to degree completion by taking courses in the summer. Summer enrollment may make it easier to accomplish multiple majors, complete a minor, change majors, or participate in study abroad, undergraduate research, or internships, practicums, and coops. A BGSU advisor can help you sort through the options that are best for you.
