SPECIAL MEETING MINUTES
Board of Trustees
Bowling Green State University
March 22, 2011

Notice having been given in accordance with the Board of Trustees Bylaws, the following members met in the Bowen-Thompson Student Union Room 201 at the Bowling Green campus on March 22, 2011: Col. John Moore, Jr. (Ret.), Chair; Stephen Daley, Stephanie Imhoff, David Levey, Megan Newlove, Abby Priehs, Bill Primrose, Skyler Rogers, Debra Ryan, J. Robert Sebo, and Fran Voll. 

Chair Moore called the meeting to order at 10:30 a.m.  Dr. Pauken called the roll and announced that a quorum was present (nine trustees).

Chair Moore began the meeting by thanking the Bowling Green State University community for its work and participation in the presidential search. He thanked Trustee Bill Primrose, the search committee, the Board of Trustees, and the search firm of Heidrick & Struggles for the hard work they offered this year. He then turned to Trustee Primrose to make the motion.

No. 32-2011            

Mr. Primrose moved and Mr. Levey seconded that the Bowling Green State University Board of Trustees appoint Dr. Mary Ellen Mazey as the President of Bowling Green State University and that the Board authorize the Chair to execute all necessary documents.

Mr. Primrose spoke on Dr. Mazey’s qualifications to lead BGSU as its eleventh president.

Dr. Pauken conducted a roll call vote with the following results:  Voting “yes” – Mr. Daley, Ms. Imhoff, Mr. Levey, Col. Moore, Ms. Newlove, Mr. Primrose, Ms. Ryan, Mr. Sebo, and Mr. Voll. The motion was approved with nine affirmative votes.

Chair Moore congratulated Dr. Mazey and welcomed her along with her family to Bowling Green State University. Dr. Mazey offered words of appreciation to the Board, the search committee and the community.
