At its December 11 meeting, the Bowling Green State University Board of Trustees took action on the following item:

Personnel Changes since the October 5, 2001, Meeting
The Board approved Personnel Changes since the October 5, 2001, meeting.

Proposed Charter Amendments: Article IV.D.2.b), Election and Term of Office; Article IV.F.8, Committee on Professional Affairs, and Section B-II.B, Faculty Leaves
The Board approved proposed amendments to the Academic Charter, Article IV.D.2.b), which clarifies election procedures for Senate officers, Article IV.F.8, which creates a new Faculty Senate Committee on Professional Affairs, and Section B-II.B, which clarifies the faculty improvement leave application process.

Tenure and Promotion Recommendation
The Board approved tenure and promotion to Associate Professor for Dr. Terry Rentner in the Department of Journalism.

Revised University Naming Policy
The Board approved the revised University Naming Policy, clarifying the types of naming opportunities available, and extending opportunities beyo nd the physical facilities of the campus to include an “Academic Entities” category.

Proposed Real Estate Purchase
The Board approved the purchase of property at 1372 East Wooster Street.

Grant of Limited Authority to Purchase Property
The Board granted limited authority to the President to purchase property on behalf of the University through June 30, 2003. The property must be within a defined target area of the campus, its price within certain limitations on each acquisition transaction, and the aggregate cost of all parcels not to exceed $750,000.

Revised 2001-02 Budgets for Bowen-Thompson Student Union, Dining Services, Bookstore, and Peregrine Shop
The Board approved revised 2001-02 Bowen-Thompson Student Union, Dining Services,Bookstore, and Peregrine Shop Budgets, due to opening of Bowen-Thompson Student Union in the spring semester.

Proposed Local Funding for Bowen-Thompson Student Union
The Board approved utilizing $4.5 million in the auxiliary reserve balances for the University Bookstore, University Dining Services, and University Printing to cover a portion of the costs of the renovation and expansion of the Bowen-Thompson Student Union.
