John E. Moore, Jr.

John E. Moore Jr., retired after 26 years of distinguished service with the United States Air Force, retiring as a Colonel. Currently, he serves as vice chair, Board of Advisors and Ohio advisor to the National Trust for Historic Preservation. Col. Moore’s interest in historic preservation resulted in his executive directorship roles with Wright-Dunbar, Inc and Rickenbacker Woods, Inc. Prior to his involvement in community preservation he was a member of the Dayton Power and Light (DP&L) management team. During his tenure with DP&L, Col. Moore was active in community affairs, serving as president to both the Trotwood Chamber of Commerce and Miami Valley Military Affairs Association. In addition, he chaired the Board of Eastway Behavioral Health Care Corporation and Heritage Ohio. Col. Moore has served on numerous other boards in Dayton and in Montgomery County, Ohio. He remains active with the Leadership Ohio - alumni group.

A 1966 graduate of Bowling Green State University with a major in biology, Col. Moore served as president to the Alumni Board of Directors in 2000 and is currently a member of the Alumni Board Past Presidents Council. Col. Moore resides in Columbus, Ohio. He and his wife Debra Plousha Moore of Charlotte, North Carolina enjoy spending time throughout Ohio. They have two adult sons.
