DR. SIDNEY A. RIBEAU
President, Bowling Green State University


Dr. Sidney Ribeau has served as President of Bowling Green State University, Bowling Green, Ohio since 1995 and holds an academic appointment as Professor of Interpersonal Communication at the University. Under Dr. Ribeau's leadership, Bowling Green State University has been recognized for its residential learning communities, values-based education, and innovative graduate programs. It offers programs in more than 270 academic and professional fields, and maintains an enrollment of approximately 21,000 students.

On the national level, he serves as a Trustee for Teachers Insurance and Annuity Association and on the President's Council for the National Collegiate Athletic Association. In the State of Ohio, he serves as Chair of the Inter University Council of Presidents. He is actively involved throughout the community working with the Bowling Green Area Community Partnership, Regional Growth Partnership, Toledo Urban League, Toledo Symphony, Andersons, Inc., Convergys Corporation, and Worthington Industries.

His honors, too numerous to list here, include distinguished alumnus awards from Wayne State University and University of Illinois, scholarly recognition from the National Communication Association and the President's Award from the National Association of Student Personnel Administrators.

President Ribeau and his wife, Paula Whetsel-Ribeau, are the proud parents of three children.
