Great Ideas: Questions & Answers
The Office of Human Resources will field the Great Ideas that are submitted and track the questions and answers that follow.
When you submit a Great Idea:
- You will receive an email informing you that your idea has been received.
- The idea will be reviewed and forwarded to the appropriate person(s), who will respond directly to you.
- Periodically, the Great Ideas Web site will be refreshed with an aggregate listing of recent submissions.
- Seek more faculty and student-body diversity in programs and, in the College of Musical Arts, in music and marching band styles.
- Bring the Stanley Cup to BGSU
- Make name and email address optional when submitting a Great Idea
- Blow our own horn, including about the BGSU connection to the Stanley Cup
- Eliminate artificial boundaries between colleges so course offerings may be more interdisciplinary and more efficient.
- BGSU should focus on recruiting and providing educational opportunities and support services to veterans of the Iraq and Afghanistan conflicts.
- Consider composting the University’s food waste, using worms.
- Require students to schedule a visit to the Math/Stats Tutoring Center.
- Check journal subscriptions at University Libraries before ordering departmental subscriptions.
- Turn off computers and monitors during times when students are not on campus.
- Fund a broader transfer scholarship program
- Disseminate videos on time management, decision making
- Give students opportunity to “work off” bursar balances through campus service.
- Clarify future of Career Center and its role in arranging student co-ops and internships.
