Office of the President
Welcome

In the words of author Lawrence M. Miller, "Excellence is not an accomplishment. It is a spirit, a never-ending process." As I begin my role as BGSU's 11th president, I am inspired by the Falcon spirit that prevails. The strength of the University can be seen on the campuses, in the community and across the nation and the world. We have so much to be proud of at BGSU.

We are nationally recognized for our learning communities and service learning, our dedicated faculty and staff and our strong academic programs. As BGSU's largest construction initiative is being completed – with two new residence and dining halls and a new convocation center and arts center – we are anticipating the largest incoming class in the University's history this fall.

Our commitment will always be to provide our students positive learning experiences inside and outside the classroom, and our goal is to equip them with the education and skills for lifelong learning that give them competitive edges in the workplace.

This is an exciting time to be at BGSU. I relish the opportunity to provide leadership as we work together in the "never-ending process" to continue our legacy of excellence.

Regards,

Mary Ellen Mazey, Ph.D.
President
