Professor elected officer of national education organization

BOWLING GREEN, O.—Dr. Patricia Erickson, an assistant professor in the School of Family and Consumer Sciences at Bowling Green State University, has been named president-elect of the National Association of Teacher Educators for Family and Consumer Sciences.

Her one-year term will begin in July. In 2003 she will assume the organization’s presidency.

As president-elect, Erickson will participate in the annual meetings of the Association for Career and Technical Education and attend the ACTE planning meetings.

An affiliate of the ACTE Family and Consumer Sciences Education Division, NATEFACS is dedicated to improving and strengthening teacher education in family and consumer sciences. Among its primary functions are establishing and improving standards for and sponsoring and supporting professional discussion in family and consumer sciences teacher education.

Erickson, who joined the BGSU faculty in 1978, received her bachelor’s degree from Bowling Green State University, a master’s degree from Kent State University, and her Ph.D. from Purdue University. (Posted June 17, 2002)
