Workers' Compensation Information

For New Hires

I, as many on campus, welcome you to Bowling Green State University.

In 1993 the Ohio Legislature pass House Bill 107 which changed how Ohio workers' compensation injuries are treated for state funded employees. House Bill 107 established procedures for delivery of medical services to injured employees under the Health Partnership Program (HPP). Effective March 1, 1997, medical services must be managed by an Ohio Bureau Of Workers' Compensation certified Managed Care Organization.

GATESMcDONALD HEALTH PLUS INC. is the managed care administrator for BGSU. Attached is a Health Plus identification card that should be carried with you at all times. In the event a work-related injury should occur, follow the steps that are listed on the card.

Should you have questions concerning workers' compensation or this procedure, please feel free to contact me, Kelly Stewart at 372-2112. My office is located in the Benefits Department, Room 100, College Park Office Building. You may also contact GATESMcDONALD HEALTH PLUS direct at 1-800-642-7587. Also for more information see BWC information.

Again, I welcome you as a new BGSU employee.
