Marshall Rose , Director, provides executive direction to BGSU’s Affirmative Action program and goals, and its EEO obligations and initiatives. He is
responsible for monitoring, coordinating and implementing university policies and initiatives related to AA/EEO. He provides
leadership and counsel on legal and regulatory responsibilities relating to unlawful discrimination and the general promotion
of equal opportunity to the University administration, faculty, staff, and students. He heads the Diversity Liaison Committee
monitoring the diversification of the workforce within the area of the Executive Vice President and he serves on the University’s
Diversity Leadership Team. Mr. Rose offers training sessions and class presentations on areas related to AA, EEO, race, and
diversity. In addition, he supervises the two staff affirmative action officers.
Kim D. Kirkland , Affirmative Action Officer & Senior Investigator, recently joined the OED staff. Prior to coming to BGSU, Kim served for many years as a compliance practitioner - EEO & Diversity
Program Manager at GE Aircraft Engines; Vice-President, Compliance Programming at the Meridian Group; and as an AAP Consultant
to manufacturing, medical systems, flight test facilities, and information technology organizations that met the standard
as a government contractor. Ms. Kirkland has experience managing every aspect of DoL/OFCCP Compliance Evaluations and conducting
investigations into allegations of discrimination and harassment. In addition, Ms. Kirkland spearheaded business-wide diversity
initiatives aimed at increasing the representation of women and minorities in leadership roles through recruitment, promotions
(succession planning, training and development), retention (mentoring programs/network groups), and accountability (monitoring).
Janice Wasserman , Administrative Secretary, provides the administrative, secretarial and clerical support for OED. She serves as an important point of contact for those
needing OED services. She is equipped to handle inquiries about the complaint process, rules and regulations related to AA/EEO,
the recruitment and hiring process for faculty and all staff, immigration needs, scheduling workshop presentations, and accessing
the OED Resource Library and Center. She prepares annual federal and state reports mandated by law.
