successNET
successNET allows for early alerts to address concerns, provide direction and offer advice to students. In addition, it closes the feedback loop so that you know that your alerts have been communicated and what actions have been taken.
Your referrals are key to student success
If you observe a pattern of student behavior that you feel will endanger the student’s success in your course, raise a flag using successNET. Once you raise a flag (you can do this 24/7, at any point in the semester, AND via the progress surveys, it is automatically forwarded to the appropriate campus professionals who will assist your student in a timely matter. successNET also provides a “close the loop” feature, in which you will be notified when the issue has been resolved
When you log onto successNET, you will be taken to your Profile page. You may also access this information anytime you are in the system by hitting the “Home” tab. You may customize this page with as little or as much information as you’d like and can even upload a photo. Please log onto the system at your earliest convenience and access your student list(s) via the “MyStudents” tab. These lists are arranged on a course-by-course basis. For instance, if you are teaching three sections this fall, you will have three separate sections in the system, each with its own student list.
For faculty who also serve as advisors, those roles are noted under your “Connection” tab. To access your list of advisees, simply select “Academic Advisor” under Connections. Also under your “Connections” tab, you will see all roles you have in the system, as well as a list of the courses you are teaching each semester.
Syllabi statement
When you incorporate successNET as your course progress reporting system, communication to your students is key. One way to keep students informed of successNET is a statement on your syllabi. An example of a syllabi statement is below:
I have enrolled this course in a student success and progress tracking system called successNET. Throughout this term, you may receive emails from successNET regarding your attendance, course and assignment grades, and overall academic progress. These messages will vary from advice and assistance referrals to kudos for a job well done. Please pay attention to these emails and follow the directions and advice they provide. They are sent to help you be successful!
Flag or notification types
successNET offers two different methods to raise flags with your students: 3x per semester via system-generated Progress Surveys which will be sent to you via email, and at-will flags which you may generate 24/7 at any point during the system.
