New Student Orientation and First Year Programs
The Office of New Student Orientation and First Year Programs assists incoming new and transfer students by coordinating programs, services, and resources designed to successfully prepare and support students in the undergraduate collegiate experience at Bowling Green State University. Through active participation in programs, students engage in the campus experience and are introduced to strategies and resources that contribute to academic success, increase student persistence, and lead to timely degree completion.
Through participation in these programs, students will develop skills related to our Four Pillars: Academic Success, Career Development, Leadership and Engagement, and Personal and Fiscal Responsibility. Students will also be able to recognize the University learning outcomes, understand how these outcomes are connected to their curricular and co-curricular goals, and be able to describe their rights and responsibilities in achieving these outcomes. In collaboration with other University offices working with new students, New Student Orientation and First Year Programs provides opportunities for students to build and maintain relationships with faculty, staff, current students and peers to establish a foundation for success in the campus community.
