Stanley Cup champion and Canadian Olympic gold medalist Rob Blake will return to BGSU and the Ice Arena Nov. 6 to support the "Bring Back the Glory" campaign. Blake, an All-American defenseman for the Falcons from 1987-90, will be the guest of honor at a fund-raising reception hosted by the "Bring Back the Glory" campaign before BGSU's hockey game against Notre Dame. Everyone is invited to the 5 p.m. reception at Mileti Alumni Center. Tickets are $25 or $100 per person. The $100 ticket includes a $75 tax-deductible gift to the campaign, an autographed photo of Blake and recognition of your donation at the event. Launched in October 2009, the campaign's goal is $5 million to endow scholarships and enhance the Ice Arena. He was inducted into the BGSU Athletics Hall of Fame in 1996 on the first ballot and is a certain consideration for the NHL Hall of Fame upon achieving eligibility. To register for the reception, contact Lisa Mattiace at 2-6780, or at respond@bgsu.edu. More information is available at www.bgsualumni.com/glory. Tickets for the hockey game are available by contacting the ticket office online here, or 2-0000. The Falcon hockey team opens its season at home against Michigan tonight – the puck drops at 7:08 p.m |
