Fine Arts Center hosts community art show
The sixth annual Northwest Ohio Community Art Exhibition opens tomorrow (June 21) in the Fine Arts Center galleries. Jurying the show this year is Sarah Aubrey, curator of American Art at the Fort Wayne Museum of Art.
Artists age 16 and older exhibit work in a variety of media. The opening reception and awards ceremony will be held from 7-9 p.m. in the Dorothy Uber Bryan and Willard Wankelman galleries.
Cash awards will be presented in several categories, including the $500 Grand Prize and the Kiwanis Young Artist Award. In addition, a Popular Choice Award will be given.
Gallery hours are 1-4 p.m. Thursday-Sunday and 6-8 p.m. Fridays. The galleries will be closed July 4 and 5.
The show concludes July 12. On July 13, there will also be free artists’ workshops.
