How much will the program save?
It is estimated that the university could save as much as $1.5 million per year.
Where do the savings go? Will my office/department see that cost-savings?
Yes. The program is designed so individual units will realize the savings in their budget. They will no longer have to pay maintenance on equipment and will not have to purchase and stock toner.
Will students have to pay for printing?
Yes. Students will be charged a nominal per-page fee to print/copy documents. This has been a common practice at most colleges and universities for a number of years.
Is the cost-savings and revenue being generated solely by student fees?
No. The charge for students will be designed to simply cover the University’s costs for the printing. The rest of the savings will be generated by a reduction in materials/supplies, the purchasing of equipment, maintenance costs and reduced energy usage.
