MyBGSUBGSU EmailSearchAcademicsAdmissionsThe ArtsAthleticsLibraryA to Z LinksBowling Green State UniversityDear Colleagues:
As many of you know there is currently an effort by some of our faculty colleagues to organize a union at BGSU. These colleagues are circulating cards for you to sign if you want to be represented by a labor union.
The arguments they make in support of organizing deserve a fair and serious hearing. This is obviously an important decision and it is not one to be taken without reflection and investigation of all sides of the question. I want to share with you some thoughts about organizing and provide some resources for you to consider as you weigh the decision whether to sign an organizing card or not. With these notes it is my intent to share perspectives on the issues that differ from those being presented by the union organizers. It is my hope that by doing this we can have a candid and collegial discussion about these important issues, leading to the best outcome for our faculty, our students, and our university.
Sincerely,
Mark Gromko
Interim Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs
