Take advantage of your rights as a citizen by making sure your voice is heard in elections. Register to vote.
If you want to vote in local, state or presidential elections, you must be registered with your County Board of Elections 30 days before the election.
To view an elections calendar, visit: http://www.sos.state.oh.us/SOS/publications/electVoterPubs/calendar.aspx
BGSU and other college students have two options for voting:
- You can register with the Wood County Board of Elections and vote at a polling place here on campus.
- You can register with the Board of Elections in your home county or state and vote by Absentee Ballot. This allows you to vote on the races and issues in your home community.
If you are already registered to vote, but have moved since the last election, you will need to update your voter registration information. This needs to be done, even if you only have moved to a different residence hall on campus.
For more information and to download forms, see the links below.
- The following site contains a downloadable voter registration form (or change of name or address): http://www.sos.state.oh.us/SOS/voter/RegisteringToVote.aspx
- Instructions for completing the voter registration form are available at the following website: http://www.sos.state.oh.us/sos/upload/publications/election/VRinstructions.pdf
