Richard Rhodes

Richard Rhodes, Keynote Address: “Things Hidden Since the Foundation of the World.” Rhodes is a Pulitzer Prize winning author of 22 books, including The Making of the Atomic Bomb, which won a Pulitzer Prize in Nonfiction, a National Book Award and a National Book Critics Circle Award; Dark Sun: The Making of the Hydrogen Bomb; Why They Kill and A Hole in the World. He has been a visiting scholar at Harvard and MIT and a host-correspondent for documentaries on public television's Frontline and American Experience series. He is an affiliate of the Center for International Security and Cooperation at Stanford University and has just published a third volume of nuclear history, Arsenals of Folly: The Making of the Nuclear Arms Race (2007).
