The BG1 Card serves as an official university ID as well as a key component to completing transactions in locations such as
university dining facilities. Features of the BG1 Card continue to be developed and implemented and information on new card
features will be communicated to the campus community as they become available. For your reference, the following methods
for checking account balances, adding value to a card, and how to report a lost or stolen card are provided in this message.
If you would like to see your Meal Plan and BG1 account balances you may do so by visiting either MyBGSU or an Account Balance
Station.
Information is available by successfully logging on to MyBGSU and then selecting the BG1 Card tab.
Additionally, Account Balance Stations are accessible at the Information Center in the Bowen-Thompson Student Union and at
the Kreischer SunDial residential dining center. A simple swipe of your card at an Account Balance Station will provide you
with current account information.
Adding value to your BG1 Card is available through several methods.
The BG1 Card Services Center located near the entrance to the University Bookstore is available for BG1 Card related services,
including adding value to the BG1 Card.
Located near the clock tower entrance to the Bowen-Thompson Student Union is an Account Management Center (AMC). This ATM
type device is available for BG1 Card transactions, including placing additional funds onto your BG1 Card using either cash
or credit.
A mail deposit form is available on the BG1 Card web site - http://www.bgsu.edu/bg1card/. Completion and submission of this form and funds provides another option for placing funds onto a BG1 Card. This option
is currently the most convenient for parents to complete and fax in order to place funds on a student’s account.
The BG1 Card is used for identity and for the completion of financial transactions and as such, it should be kept safe and
secure at all times. If a BG1 Card is lost or stolen, it should immediately be reported to one of the following locations.
Photo ID Office in the Bowen-Thompson Student Union

Outside of the operating hours for Photo ID or BG1 Card Services Office, reports may be made in person at the BGSU Police
Department located in the Commons Building.
