Real estate seminar focuses on customer service as competitive edge
BOWLING GREEN, O.—In this tough housing market, area real estate professionals need a competitive advantage. The Institute for Excellence in Services (IES) at Bowling Green State University will focus on the importance of successful customer service skills in its annual marketing seminar. “Successfully Service Real Estate Customers” will run from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Oct. 28 in the Bowen-Thompson Student Union.
“As the service sector continues to grow as a percentage of the U.S. economy, outstanding service and services marketing become even more important,” said George Jenkins, director of IES. “This is especially true in the real estate industry where it has become even more difficult to sell a property. The upcoming seminar covers many important topics facing real estate professionals.”
Howard “Hoby” Hanna, president of the fourth largest full-service real estate company in the country, is the keynote speaker. Hanna will discuss “Delivering Service Excellence and Satisfying Customers.”
Dr. Dwayne Gremler, a BGSU professor who is internationally known for his expertise on services marketing, and Dr. Greg Rich, chair of the Department of Marketing, will explain how consumers evaluate service quality and provide ideas on how real estate professionals can improve their performance in the second session.
The third session, hosted by Bill Balderaz, the founder of Webbed Marketing, covers social media trends in the real estate industry and the opportunities these trends provide.
Real estate professionals can earn continuing education credits.
The Institute for Excellence in Services (IES) was established by the College of Business Administration in the marketing department to provide the opportunity for engagement, learning and growth among industry, students, and faculty. As part of its business outreach efforts, the IES hosts an annual services marketing symposium covering a broad range of services marketing topics.
