Enrollment ‘springs ahead'
BOWLING GREEN, O.—Spring semester enrollment at Bowling Green State University once again has increased on both the main and
Firelands campuses.
For main campus, the total of undergraduate and graduate students climbed from 17,112 students last spring to 17,277 now—a
1.5 percent increase.
At BGSU Firelands, the increase was more pronounced, from 1,900 last spring to 1,991 this spring, about a 5 percent jump.
The other area to see growth was BGSU extension classes, which are held off campus. The number of students in those classes
rose from 735 in spring 2005 to 773 this term, a 5.2 percent increase.
“Many of those are master's-level courses,” said Dr. William Knight, director of planning and institutional research, “and
many are classes offered through Continuing & Extended Education and include teachers taking courses in their schools.”
