December 27, 2006 - Bowling Green State University is among five U.S. colleges and universities nationally whose curricular engagement with the community has been recognized by the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching.

December 20, 2006 - Webcasting, and Dr. Louisa Ha's research of it, have come a long way in a short time.   An associate professor of telecommunications at Bowling Green State University, Ha says relatively few people had heard of Webcasting, entailing online delivery of audio and video, when she began studying it in 2002.

October 13, 2006 - In the mid-1960s, Ashel Bryan was walking in downtown Bowling Green when he was approached by Bowling Green State University's then-development director and asked for a contribution to his alma mater. The Mid-American National Bank executive reached in his pocket and dug out a dime. Within two days he received a receipt thanking him for his donation.

Picture books focus of annual conference

September 05, 2006 - As northwest Ohio farmers can tell you, it has been an especially bad year for soybean root rot. Drs. Paul Morris and Vipaporn Phuntumart, Bowling Green State University biologists, are part of an international group of 53 scientists working to decode the genomes of the pathogen that causes the destruction, with hopes of derailing it.

Brady Gaskins appointed graduate student trustee

May 08, 2006 - A specialist in physical chemistry has been named an Ohio Board of Regents Eminent Scholar in photochemical sciences at Bowling Green State University. Dr. Peter Lu, currently a chief scientist in the Chemical Sciences Division of the Fundamental Science Directorate at Pacific Northwest National Laboratory, Richland, Wash., will join the faculty Aug. 9.

May 05, 2006 - A resolution opposing the proposed Tax Expenditure Limitation (TEL) amendment to the state constitution was passed at the May 5 meeting of the Bowling Green State University Board of Trustees.

Trustees approve budget, fee increases
May 05, 2006 - Like other public colleges these days, Bowling Green State University financially finds itself caught between the proverbial “rock and a hard place.” In this case, the rock is consumer price hikes that impact operating costs and the hard place is state subsidy that is 13 percent lower than it was four years ago. The challenge, BGSU administrators say, is keeping income and expenses balanced.

May 04, 2006 - At Lorain County Community College commencement on May 20, Elyria resident Angela Maziarz will become the first graduate of the bachelor of science in biology degree program offered by BGSU at the community college. New business dean named
May 01, 2006 - Dr. Rodney K. Rogers of Portland State University has been appointed dean of the Bowling Green State University College of Business Administration, BGSU Provost John Folkins has announced. The appointment is effective July 31.
