No injuries reported in off-campus fire
BOWLING GREEN, O.—Residents were safely evacuated from a Bowling Green apartment building around 5:30 Sunday (Dec. 11) morning when fire was detected in the building's hallways.

The building, located at 451 Frazee Avenue, is leased by Bowling Green State University for student housing. The building houses 96 students, including two University residence advisors.

There were no injuries, no personal property damage and no major property damage as a result of the fire.

The apartment building is equipped with a hallway fire alarm, smoke detectors and sprinklers. The individual apartments also have heat and smoke detectors as well as sprinklers. The use of fire resistant carpeting in the building is credited for the lack of major property damage from Sunday's fire.

Students were allowed to return to their apartments around 9:30 a.m. after meeting with fire and police officials.

The fire remains under investigation by the Bowling Green City Fire Department, BGSU police and arson investigators. A reward is being offered to anyone with information leading to the arrest and conviction of the perpetrator.

The building is owned by Robert Mauer of Bowling Green.
