Fourth BGSU Research Conference slated BOWLING GREEN, O.—Campus researchers will share their work with one another and the public at the fourth annual Bowling Green
State University Research Conference Nov. 3 and 4.
Using the theme “Achievement: Measuring Success,” the conference will be in session from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. both days in the
Bowen-Thompson Student Union.
The event is hosted by the Office of Sponsored Programs and Research and supported by the Graduate College and the Provost’s
Office, and will showcase work by faculty and graduate students from the sciences, humanities, art, performing arts, health
and human services, technology, education and business.
More than 135 poster presentations will be ongoing in the Lenhart Grand Ballroom both days, and many of the researchers will
be available to discuss their research.
The noon luncheon on Thursday (Nov. 3) will feature Dr. Ronald Shields, chair of the theatre and film department, discussing
“The Cavalli Project: Artistic Collaboration and Scholarship across BGSU and Beyond.” The presentation will include selections
from the upcoming BGSU Opera Theater production of the Baroque opera “Gli Amori d’Apollo e di Dafne.”
In addition, winners of the 2005 Olscamp Research Award and the Outstanding Young Scholar Award will be announced at the luncheon.
A closing reception for researchers and guests will be held from 3:30-5 p.m. Friday (Nov. 4) in the Lenhart Grand Ballroom.
During “Five Minutes of Fame,” selected researchers will share their work with the audience.
