Contest for high school Web designers
BOWLING GREEN, O.—High school students from 21 counties have the opportunity to win prizes in the second annual Northwest
Ohio Technology Fair Web design contest sponsored by Bowling Green State University.
Prizes include a $500 cash award for the best high school Web page, and a Nikon Coolpix 4300 4.0 megapixels digital camera
for the top high school organization Web page. First-, second- and third-place prizes will be given for the best personal
Web pages.
Prizes will be awarded at 12:30 p.m. Oct. 21 during BGSU’s annual Northwest Ohio Technology Fair, to be held in the Lenhart
Grand Ballroom of the Bowen-Thompson Student Union. Teachers are encouraged to bring their classes to the fair, which will
run from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Web design contest criteria include a main homepage with at least three internal links and totaling four to eight pages overall.
Entries must be submitted on a compact disc and postmarked no later than Oct. 2 to: Kim Fleshman, 200 Saddlemire, BGSU, Bowling
Green, Ohio 43403. A Microsoft Word document with a list of the designers must be included on the CD, and at least one person
from the list must be present at the technology fair to claim a prize.
Registration of personal and school information is required by Sept. 24 in order for Web sites to be judged. The registration
form may be accessed at, and submitted from: www.bgsu.edu/offices/studenttech/techfair/contestreg.html.
The contest is open to all high schools, public and parochial, in the following counties: Allen, Auglaize, Crawford, Defiance,
Erie, Fulton, Hancock, Hardin, Henry, Huron, Lucas, Mercer, Ottawa, Paulding, Putnam, Sandusky, Seneca, Van Wert, Williams,
Wood and Wyandot.
