BGSU cited for learning communities, among ‘328 Most Interesting Colleges’ BOWLING GREEN, O.— Bowling Green State University is among institutions listed in Kaplan Publishing’s “The Unofficial, Unbiased
Guide to the 328 Most Interesting Colleges, 2004 Edition” and the U. S. News & World Report annual ranking of “America’s Best
Colleges.”
U.S. News & World Report, which ranks colleges and universities using a formula that considers an array of data, notes BGSU
for its learning communities. In the small-group, residential learning communities, BGSU students with similar interests and
goals live and study together. Students work closely with outstanding faculty members who teach classes and have offices right
in the residence halls where the academically based programs are housed.
Bowling Green is the only campus in Ohio on the list of 21 cited for their learning communities. Other campuses include Yale,
Duke University, the University of Michigan, the University of Wisconsin-Madison, Temple, Vanderbilt and the University of
Missouri-Columbia.
The list of the “328 Most Interesting Colleges” was compiled from results of Kaplan’s 2004 National Survey of High School
Guidance Counselors. Bowling Green was cited for having a beautiful campus in a rural setting and for being a university that
students find they enjoy attending.
