BGSU wins Crystal Awards
BOWLING GREEN, O.--
Public relations, communications and marketing efforts for Bowling
Green State University earned more than a dozen honors, including
six top prizes, in this year's Crystal Awards sponsored by the
Toledo Professional Chapter of the Association for Women in
Communications.
The awards recognize
northwest Ohio and southeast Michigan communications professionals
for excellence in photography, writing, television, design,
advertising, public relations, non-profit public relations,
audio visuals and the World Wide Web.

BGSU Magazine

BGSU Magazine, produced
by the University's Office of Marketing and Communications,
won Crystal Awards in both the design and public relations magazine
categories. The BGSU Foundation Annual Report earned the Crystal
Award in the non-profit public relations annual report category,
and BGSU's "Get the Big Picture" multicultural publication
won the Crystal Award in the special purpose public relations
publication category. A Crystal Award went to a black and white
photograph titled "The Graduate" by Craig Bell of
the Office of Marketing & Communications.
In addition, Awards
of Merit went to "The Triumphant Spirit" project,
a photography exhibition and related activities, in the non-profit
public relations event category, and to an informational publication
titled "Partnering Knowledge and Industry," in the
special purpose publication category.
Communicà, a
Toledo marketing, advertising, design firm garnered three awards
for work produced on behalf of BGSU's Office of Marketing and
Communications: a Crystal Award in the total advertising campaign
category for the BGSU Presidents' Day Campaign, and Awards of
Merit for the BGSU Presidents' Day billboard and BGSU Presidents'
Day television advertisement.
BGSU efforts were also
recognized with three other awards. WBGU-TV earned a Crystal
Award in the public affairs documentary television category
for "Let Their Voices Be Heard," and an Award of Merit
in the feature series television category for "News Six."
In the student media
category, Joan Bishop of Unigraphics, an on-campus publication
service, won an Award of Merit for "The McMaster Endowment
Brochure." The brochure featured photography by Bell and
Brad Phalin of the BGSU Office of Marketing and Communications.
