Professor named ASHA fellow

BOWLING GREEN, O. --Dr. Linda Petrosino, chair and professor of communication disorders at Bowling Green State University, has been chosen by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association as an honored Fellow for her contributions to the discipline of communication sciences and disorders.

Selection for the honor is based upon service to ASHA as well as clinical service, teaching, administrative service, and research and publications within the field of communication sciences and disorders.

Petrosino was one of 29 individuals nationally honored as a new Fellow at the ASHA convention this fall.

ASHA was established in 1925 to promote the interests of and provide the highest quality services for professionals in audiology, speech-language pathology and speech and hearing science. The professional association has more than 97,000 members.

Petrosino joined the BGSU faculty in 1986. A graduate of Ithaca College in New York, she earned her doctoral degree from Ohio University in 1983. She has written more than 100 scholarly journal articles and presents research papers frequently at national and state professional meetings. (Posted 12-7-00)
