Professor named ASHA
fellow
BOWLING GREEN, O. --Dr. Linda Petrosino,
chair and professor of communication disorders at Bowling
Green State University, has been chosen by the American
Speech-Language-Hearing Association as an honored Fellow
for her contributions to the discipline of communication
sciences and disorders.
Selection for the honor is based
upon service to ASHA as well as clinical service, teaching,
administrative service, and research and publications
within the field of communication sciences and disorders.
Petrosino was one of 29 individuals
nationally honored as a new Fellow at the ASHA convention
this fall.
ASHA was established in 1925 to
promote the interests of and provide the highest quality
services for professionals in audiology, speech-language
pathology and speech and hearing science. The professional
association has more than 97,000 members.
Petrosino joined
the BGSU faculty in 1986. A graduate of Ithaca College
in New York, she earned her doctoral degree from Ohio
University in 1983. She has written more than 100 scholarly
journal articles and presents research papers frequently
