BOWLING
GREEN, O.--The Festival Series at the Bowling Green State
University's College of Musical Arts has received a matching
grant of $6,889 from the Ohio Arts Council. The grant
was awarded through the Performing Arts on Tour Program
and will support the presentation of a six-concert season
featuring the Ray Brown Trio, the Eroica Trio, André
Watts, David Daniels, Emmanuel Pahud and Pilobolus. In
addition, the grant will help to fund master classes and
other educational endeavors related to the series. Ohio
Arts Council grants are awarded statewide through a competitive
process. Being chosen to receive support indicates the
Festival Series provides the highest level of quality
in its programs, community outreach and administration.
The Ohio Arts Council uses state tax dollars to encourage
economic growth, educational excellence and cultural enrichment
for all Ohioans. The Ohio Arts Council has a budget of
$16.2 million for fiscal year 2001. Grants are awarded
on a matching basis, which means organizations that receive
OAC funding are required to match state tax dollars with
public and private funds. In general, for every state
tax dollar invested, $10 are raised in matching funds
by recipient organizations. 10/19/00
