Postdoctoral Fellowship Awarded

The NCMR is pleased to welcome Dr. Michael Roettger as the NCMR Postdoctoral Fellow for the 2008-2009 academic year. The fellowship is designed to provide an opportunity for an outstanding young scholar to perform research and receive training in residence at the NCMR. Dr. Roettger received his PhD in Sociology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in August 2008. His research centers on the long term outcomes of children who have an incarcerated parent, the intergenerational patterns of delinquency and arrest, and the analysis of the effects of neighborhood and community disadvantage on delinquency and arrest. He will also be collaborating with NCMR faculty research affiliate, Dr. Raymond Swisher to study the intersection of families and crime during adolescence and young adulthood.
