Using Secondary Data for Analysis of Marriage and Family
Targeting graduate students, postdoctoral fellows, junior researchers, and other researchers interested in using the featured secondary data for the analysis of marriage and family, the NCMR annually sponsors a summer workshop that focuses on the following four data sources:

  • Fragile Families
  • National Longitudinal Study of Adolescent Health
  • National Survey of Family Growth
  • Survey of Income and Program Participation

The 2008 workshop was facilitated through Data Sharing for Demographic Research, and featured the following presenters:

Many potentially life-altering relationship transitions now happen before commitment develops. Professor Scott Stanley will discuss the implications of these trends for both individuals and society. Dr. Stanley is co-director of the Center for Marital and Family Studies at the University of Denver. He is the author of numerous books including The Power of Commitment.

"Research and Practice Partnerships: Strengthening Healthy Marriage Initiatives" seminar
