Former Arthur Andersen partner to
speak on managing through Enron crisis
The next College of Arts and Sciences Forum will look
at Managing When the Unexpected Happens,
featuring BGSU alumnus Michael McGuire, from noon-1:15
p.m. Sept. 23 in 308 Bowen-Thompson Student Union.
The campus community is invited to hear McGuire, former
managing partner of the Carolinas Audit Division of
Arthur Andersen, talk about values and ethics as they
relate to his experience and professional life. When
the Andersen organization was tainted by the Enron scandal
in March 2002, he began to deal with the crisis by writing
down his Guiding Principles. By sticking
to these principles, jobs were saved and a new business
emerged in the Carolina marketplace. McGuire will share
the principles and the wisdom he has gained in this
presentation.
An $8.95 lasagna buffet will begin at noon. Those interested
only in the free presentation may arrive at 12:30 p.m.
Reservations are requested by Tuesday (Sept. 16) at
2-2017.
