City, University seek volunteer
greeters
Volunteers are needed to welcome and distribute information
to BGSU students living off-campus in Bowling Green
neighborhoods.
On Aug. 28, the city of Bowling Green and the University
will distribute “welcome bags” to off-campus
students at their residences. The bags will contain
both University- and city-related materials, such as
important phone numbers, voter registration cards and
coupons from local vendors.
University student, faculty and staff volunteers will
be matched with local community residents to go out
in teams. Each team will hand out bags, meet and greet
off-campus students, and invite them to a community
barbeque planned the same day from 4-7 p.m. in the St.
Mark’s Lutheran Church parking lot on College
Drive.
Volunteers are asked to spend just two hours of time
that Saturday to help hand out the welcome wagon bags.
To volunteer, contact Georgia Folkins in Student Life
at 2-6043 or email her at gfolkin@bgnet.bgsu.edu.
