Spirited Cole Porter musical
‘Anything Goes’ closes 56th season of Huron
Playouse
Featuring one of Cole Porter's most magical musical
scores, “Anything Goes” will be performed
at the Huron Playhouse Tuesday-Saturday (July 27-31).
Filled with romance, intrigue and tap-dancing sailors,
the musical romp includes such memorable songs as "I
Get A Kick Out Of You," "You're The Top,"
"Friendship," "It's De-lovely,"
and the title song, "Anything Goes."
Sailing aboard the SS American is an unusual
mix of characters. The young debutante Hope, played
by Kaitlyn Casanova of Shelby Twp., Mich., and her stuffy
mother Evangeline Harcourt, portrayed by Sarah Bird
of Delaware, Ohio, arrive with Hope's fiancé,
the stuffy Englishman Lord Evelyn Oakleigh, portrayed
by Richard Binning of Montepelier. Mayhem ensues when
Hope's true love, Billy Crocker, played by Anthony Vinup
of Sandusky, and Moonface Martin, played by Tim Nicolai
of Jackson, Mo., stow away on the ship. Alison Show
of Uniontown, Pa., plays famous nightclub singer-turned-evangelist
Reno Sweeney, who, along with her beautiful Angels,
saves sinners through song nightly. A melting-pot of
other passengers rounds out the parade of characters.
Ticket prices for all Huron Playhouse productions are
