CSC golf outing scores hole
in one for scholarships
The Classified Staff Council golf outing, held June
4, was the most successful to date, according to
CSC Treasurer Barb Garay. The annual outing raises
money for CSC-sponsored scholarships through team registrations,
hole sponsorships and raffles. Sponsorship of holes
was up this year, as was the number of teams playing—to
25.
Ticket sales for raffle prizes raised more than $2,000.
Winning the 50-50 raffle was Trustee Michael Marsh,
who donated his prize money back to the scholarship
fund.
Money raised last year allowed CSC to present 16, $250
scholarships this year to employees and their dependents.
Council’s goal is to continue increasing the number
of sponsored scholarships by two each year, according
to Garay.
“Accolades go to everyone who helped—from
those who organized to those who played to all those
who bought tickets. The bottom line is everyone is a
winner because the money goes to scholarships,”
Garay said.
