Stooping to conquer

Mrs. Hardcastle, center (played by Carrie Lee, a doctoral candidate in theatre from Jacksonville, Texas), reacts to some disturbing news, while her son Tony, left (played by Ryan Nehlen, a junior theatre major from Canton), and niece Constance (played by Chery lKandel, also a junior theatre major from Canton), look on in disbelief, in a scene from “She Stoops to Conquer.”

Written in 1773, "She Stoops to Conquer" is Oliver Goldsmith's masterpiece of class, courtship and dysfunctional families set in the heart of the English countryside.

Directed by Jonathan Chambers, the BGSU Department of Theatre and Film’s production will be performed in the Eva Marie Saint Theatre at 8 p.m. April 16, 17, 23 and 24, and at 2 p.m. April 18 and 25. Tickets are $10 for adults, including students and senior citizens and $5 for children under 12.

Group rates are available for 15 or more people. For ticket reservations, contact the box office at 2-2719.
