With
the help of a BGSU Partnerships for Community Action
grant, Sheri Wells-Jensen, English and interim director
of the masters degree program in Teaching English
as a Second Language, and her husband, Jason, a TESL
instructor, are partnering with Mingo Indian Chief Mike
Adams and his wife, Georgia, to revitalize the nearly
extinct Mingo language so it may be passed on to the
next generation. Read

Szporluk has new poetry book, NEA
fellowship
|
Larissa
Szporluk, English and Creative Writing Program,
has recently been recognized by the National Endowment
for the Arts with a $20,000 literature fellowship in
poetry. Her new book of poetry, Inside the Dog-Fish,
will be published in September by Alice James Books.

18, the BGSU Alumni Association will present Ohio Auditor
Betty Montgomery the Distinguished Alumnus Award in recognition
of her achievements and for serving as a role model for
Ohio women. Montogmery will also deliver the keynote address
for Womens History Month that evening. Read
