One-act plays mark Black History Month

Lula, played by Megan Grandstaff, a junior theatre major from Cincinnati, invites Clay, played by Tarik Daniels, a freshman international business/theatre major from Detroit, to her apartment in a scene from “Dutchman.” The Obie Award-winning 1964 work by Amiri Baraka is one of two one-act plays presented in commemoration of Black History Month. Also playing is “Sally’s Rape,” by Robbie McCauley. Aimed at mature audiences, both plays present the conflicts and tensions of black people’s experience. Shows are at 8 p.m. Feb. 12 , 13 and 14, and at 2 p.m. Feb. 14 and 15, in Joe E. Brown Theatre, University Hall. Admission is $5. Call 2-2719 for more information.
