Celebrate the holidays with nostalgia of ‘1940s Radio Hour’
The Department of Theatre and Film welcomes the holiday season by staging Walton Jones’ nostalgic musical “The 1940s Radio
Hour.” The show will be presented Nov. 29-Dec. 2 in the Eva Marie Saint Theatre. Evening performances are at 8 p.m. Thursday
through Saturday. Matinee performances on Saturday and Sunday begin at 2 p.m.
“The 1940s Radio Hour” features the zany cast of The Mutual Manhattan Variety Cavalcade, a weekly radio show broadcast from
the dingy New York studios of Feddington Productions. Set just before Christmas in 1942, the family-friendly show invokes
the spirit of that bygone era when the world was at war and pop music meant “Strike Up the Band” and “Boogie Woogie Bugle
Boy.”
Single ticketsare $12 for students/adults and $6 for children under 12. Group rates are available. Contact the theatre box
office at 2-2719 for more information or to purchase tickets.
