Manning, Ekstrand lauded for outstanding research
The research efforts of faculty were showcased at the sixth annual BGSU Research Conference Nov. 1. This year’s theme, “Extending the Reach: Achievements for the Public Good,” highlighted faculty’s contributions to creating “engaged citizens and a strong democracy,” in addition to promoting regional economic growth and the vitality their research brings to their teaching, said Provost Shirley Baugher.
Presented at the conference luncheon were the Olscamp Research Award and the Outstanding Young Scholar Award.
Sociologist Dr. Wendy Manning, director of the Center for Family and Demographic Research and, with Dr. Susan Brown, the newly created National Center for Marriage Research, was given the Olscamp Research Award.
